Actually it is worse than a recession alone. Whereas a recession is a period of decline in a country's real GDP. Stagflation is inflation, slow growth , rising unemployment combined with a recessionary decline in GDP. Either way it isn't a rosy picture of the U.S economy. As a caveat, the liberal media doesn't crunch the numbers, they leave that to the economists. The media's job is to report them.
