| My niece was once super afraid of policeman from only a bad dream. Explaining dream state and reality to a 2.5-3.5 year old was hard.
Anyway, Officer Herrera saw how scared she was of him and he too took the time to say hello and introduce himself and talk with her for awhile. He even allowed her to come see his car the next time he saw her around town. He remembers her and always says hello when he sees her.
I was so impressed with him and how he handled the situation. At 5, she no longer hides or cries when she sees a policemen but instead makes sure she says hello. |
