| Its not homicide that you need to worry about. The gang kids at least shoot at each other with their little drivebys on occasion. What you need to worry about is the rampant tagging (gang graffiti), car breakins to steal your stereo and about anything else, general theft of anything not anchored down, and the jackasses that go around shooting car windows out with BB guns or slashing your tires.
I used to live on Maralane in a duplex with a garage (thankfully) and recall about 4 years ago on Christmas eve some asses slashed tires on Maralane, Doralane, Toland, and Cannery Row. Yes, the neighborhood is generally better than that of the east side but that always changes when some banger moves into the neighborhood and all their problems follow along with them. |
