1st of all...Army DOES have a bit of an idea about reality. I grew up with both parents working, dad a union welder who suffered lay offs during certain periods of time when work was slow. My parents didn't take the gov't handouts so there were time's when we didn't have everything we wanted. I couldn't get any grants for school so I joined the Army.

[quote=jeezeweeze;70727]Reality...although I'm younger than you I have probably seen just as much if not more. I have lived in YOUR state and many others. I have lived over seas. I have been to the middle east and other countries and have see poverty, disease and death and such. What have you seen....you look out the window of your trailer and see the end of the trailer park? I'm not naive and I'm not stupid. I'm idealistic though and maybe that's bad but it's me.

1st of all I'm where I am not (wherever that is) because fo clipping coupons, saving a buck or two here and there, not wasting my money on lottery tickets, booze and cigs...(no offense weeze) I have a somewhat secure job because I CHOSE to do what I do now. The job is always open and a lot of people choose not to do it or are not qualified because of bad choices that dq's them. You CAN get fired from the military. A LOT of people do because like some in your "real world" they make bad choices. It's too bad I'm not doing what "real folks" do. This last week I worked an average of 15 hours a day...what did you do?

RIGHT...because you were ill prepared and probably didn't have the capacity nor the understanding to make the transition. Obviously you still don't or you wouldn't be in the situation you are now.

Out of touch? Perhaps I am out of touch...what are you? You want a war with no casualties..no wait..you want no conflict ever. YOu just want to stay home, shut your blinds and pretend the world is a great place for everyone and have a great big group hug...talk about out of touch...
