On the news last night they interviewed a vet and she said that running a filly with "tha boys" is totally wrong. They have to work harder and they are just as spirited, however the strength is not a match....and thats why its not a usual practice.

That combined with the breeding practices, the track, the sheer don't give a crap attitude of the trainer caused that beautiful creatures death.

She also explained why horses don't fair well with repair to their legs... their physical needs are such, that not being able to move naturally is a hazard to their internal organs and they usually do not survive anyway.....that is why they had to put her down so fast.. Plus the full pain had not hit her yet since she had the adrenaline going. She would have suffered greatly if they had moved her.

Barbaro suffered complications from his injuries and he had to be in great pain... how the hell can they tell you...... This just sucks.
