Two main components that make for a great gaming PC are 1. Video Card. 2. Memory. Most PC's advertised as "Multimedia PC's" will do a good job for gaming. You'll want a video card with at least 256mb(recommend 512mb) and support for Shadowing/texture compression, and at least 1gb(recommend 2gb) of memory on the motherboard slots.
