Well, now that I have read the other thread, I guess i need to change my ideas! I would like to nominate Charlie Mead. For those of you that don't know Charlie, he is the little guy that is dressed in sharp Western Wear, wears a badge on his hat, and you see him all over Dodge City giving tours, visiting with tourists, helping visitors, and so forth. Charlie is a great asset to Dodge City, and is remembered worldwide for his friendliness, knowledge, and assistance around town. I have seen Charlie go way out of his way to welcome tourists, advise them, provide knowledge of DC and the old west, and is genuinely appreciated by visitors to DC. On top of this, Charlie does most of this of his own free will, for little to no compensation. I think he is a great asset to Dodge City, and promotes the area as a true gentleman and friendly, caring, citizen!
