| Why should farmers get welfare, in the form of subsidies, to run their business when other businesses can't get the same sort of payments. If a local bar & grill has slow business for a time they can't get a federal subsidy to help them out, so why should a farmer. Farming is a business, if you can't adapt with the times and current business climate to make a living, then maybe it is time to sell off to somebody else that can make it in this business climate.
