Why should farmers get welfare, in the form of subsidies, to run their business when other businesses can't get the same sort of payments. If a local bar & grill has slow business for a time they can't get a federal subsidy to help them out, so why should a farmer. Farming is a business, if you can't adapt with the times and current business climate to make a living, then maybe it is time to sell off to somebody else that can make it in this business climate.
If the government is going to give welfare(subsidies) to farmers they should give them to every business owner. |
How about because 1 Kansas farmer such as the Grainman feeds 125 people. I understand that corn and wheat prices are up which should give them more money. But so is the cost of everything that they buy. So why should they not get subsidies? Grainman keep doing what you do, I like to eat!!!
