| On a serious note....and my opinion only here
Because the illegal population have no "roots" within the community, they do not have a vested interest in the community. This is not "home", it is a temporary respite at best. They are here only because the job is here. They feel no need to assimilate, they feel no need to become involved with the community. If the packing plants closed, they would just move on to the next stop. Look at the neighborhoods that have people, all races, who have roots or a vested interest. Did you know that Mexican banks give loans to people from Mexico, no questions asked, as long as they can show they have an income? This explains how so many can get the money to purchase the items they do. It is a community within a community.
