Yes, I'm a Democrat......but even I can admit that Jimmy Carter sucked as a President........and maybe Obama will too...that's yet to be seen. But if he screwed this Country up as much as W has, I think I'd be woman enough to admit it and go on......not continue to defend someone who's not worth defending.
Why do you have to drag me into this fray? 1st and foremost military OVERWHELMING vote Republican. Why do you think that is JHM?

ANYONE can admit Jimmy Carter sucked as a President, how hard is that. Double digit inflation and 9% unemployment makes his suck factor pretty high..not to mention he let several of our citizens remain hostages for a LONG time....Thank God we had a Republican come in afterwords... Can you admit Bill Clinton sucked or even recognize the area's of his presidency where he came up "short".

I guess everyone has a different idea of what "screwed up" is in terms of where are country stands. Personally I think we are going through some difficult times in some area's but we are not totally "screwed up" as you and the Reverend Wright like to say. (are you hanging with him now?) Our great country has been at war a few times and it's NEVER popular. There are 100 different ways to fight a war with ZERO of them being perfect. President Bush AND his ADVISORS chose a path to follow. It's WAY to early to measure success as Dutch stated. 15 years from now Pres Bush COULD be hailed as a hero with a vision...OR he could be a goat and go down as one of the worst presidents in history along with Carter and Clinton. You have to have a LITTLE forsight and not fall into the "immediate gratification" line. Iraq, along with the war on terror is going to take time.

In my warped little mind, ONE measure of success or failure is what's going on HERE in our country. There are terrorist IN our country as we type. They MAY be planning attacks but SO FAR there hasn't been ANY attacks since 9/11 although there have been some major ones thwarted. Personally, I would measure that as a success. Do YOU think THEY would kill more people if they could? I do. When a dirty bomb goes off in times square during new years eve..then I would say we are unsuccessful...but right now we are defending the homeland. COuld it be better? Absolutely.

I agree with Dutch on the economy. BUT...first of all...it's NOT THAT BAD...get your face OUT of the liberal media and see for yourself. It's bad IN PLACES but there are places that are moving forward and growing. SOME industries (BESIDES OIL) are showing profits. Companies are still hiring. (I just met with a temp service rep here this week who is out trying to FIND people to fill job spots...said he had DOZENS OF THEM) Unemployment is still reletively low (lower than it was under Clinton and WAY lower than under Carter), the stock market is doing ok. Oil and grain prices are hurting us. The grain prices being high is a self inflicted would due to the "ethonal craze". There ARE a lot of people losing their houses but there are more that aren't. I'm not losing my house and you are not losing yours. WHY? Because you didn't buy something you couldn't afford. How is that Bush's fault?
