Texas Dept of Justice has been doing this for years. I can remember in the 90's they put in the equipment at Univ. Tx Med Branch at Galveston. They also have a TDC hospital there. For just "run of the mill" stuff that they need a "consulting" specialist on they used the TV. That eleminated the need for transport and the risk of escape. Worked real well.

As far as a regular Dr. appt online - I have heard of that but didn't know it was bein used yet. I think it has it's place - they plan on it really cutting costs and will be a lifesaver for homebound folks.
