What brand is it? Some brands come with it, some come with it as an upgrade, and some don't come with it at all.

Openoffice is an opensource program that's supposed to be identical, or nearly identical as office, except it's free, unlike office. You could use Kodiak's Works. MSWorks can open Excel and Word files. I think wordpad can also open word files, and I believe Internet Explorer can be used to view them. I know MS has a small program that can be used to open Powerpoint files without having powerpoint, so they may have them for others also.

WordPerfect. Haven't used it much, and not recently, but it may be able to open them.I do have a copy of Office 2003, and Office XP that I got, Umm, somewhere. I'd be happy to send one your way, for, um, educational purposes, right.
