| super fund pollution site under Wright ? Environmental Protection Agency Ford County Lake in trouble Anyone know about superfund site being under Wright ? Bad water -- ethanol plant will have to bring in water ? I can't find anything on that.      |

| There is/was an alluvial contamination plume in the '70s that started from the ammonia plant and impacted Wright's water wells. Dodge City pumps water to Wright now. Ford County Lake is surface water from a very small watershed that could be impacted from farm chemical runoff.

| Um, yeah.........unregistered - please register if you are going to continue to post - which we would like to see. However...........I disagree that the ag industry is the main cause. What would we do without the ag industry? I agree with one thing, we could do more for less without all the chemicals. It will take a long time to turn that around, though.

| Chromium contamination from the cooling water treatment at the Farmland Ammonia Plant, has impacted most of the water in that area. In addition, some of the runoff from the pet food operation finds its way into Fo Co Lake. |

| The Consolidated Pet Foods facility was decommissioned several years ago. I was on the property when the chillers were salvaged. doG sure misses that place.

| There is a well at work that according to KDHE standards, we can't even use that water to water the grass. The levels are too bad to put it on the ground directly out of the well.
