It sure would be an improvement in the asthetics - that's for sure! Hope it passes for ya'll............ hell hope we pass it as well. I would vote for it if it came up - I don't think Texas is votin on it tho - it's pretty much a given everyone wants it but the churches down here. We already got everything that goes with it....... LOL

Talked with a state senator this weekend who said the "destination casino for Dodge" is dead for this year.

That don't sound too dead............... maybe it's dead for the "state senator" - or maybe that's all they are gonna do........... wet your lips with appetite then put up the "closed" sign...........well good luck!

The House passed the bill last year. The Senate is where it died and according to the Senator I spoke with it won't pass this year either.

Can't say it's Gospel. A couple of votes are all it would take.

Isn't the Senate supposed to vote on whether it goes to the people for a vote? Why does that sound so FU? The Senate decides if we get to vote on an issue or they make the decision for us?

The way I see it, we are already saturated with street crime, drugs, and thieves. We might as well attract another type of business that at least doesn't create a giant groundwater pollution problem. I am curious as to whether the casino proposal in the legislature requires that the casino be operated by an Indian tribe. Call me cynical, but I think that most of the "Indian" casinos that are in operation now are Indian in name only. I'm fairly white but I think I probably have more Indian blood that some of the "tribe" members that come out of the woodwork when a casino appears.....
