Anyway, what I want to know is what is happening on Frontview? They removed some concrete, put it back but have done nothing on Frontview other then remove that concrete too. The water inlet is in the middle of the street and looks to be 18 inches too low. |

| Buy stock in companies that sell lumber, building materials, copper, etc.

| Oh, man...the copper. Hang on to your shirts, Dodge City - up here copper is easier to find and rip off than anything else. Air conditioners, etc......maybe our gangs can make more money down there now for a while. Summer could be more than just hot around there!

| Down here too KC - there are whole sub divisions that can't even leave AC's on the outside - they are breaking into new houses to take what they can and salvage it. I believe the scrap yards and salvage yards are operating like a pawn shop now. They are requiring ID and stuff for transactions. They have cameras showing the transaction, it's just a mess................ used to be ya could just back the PU into the yard, wiegh out and get paid............. not so anymore. Still lots of folks scrappin tho. We set a ridin mower out and it took 15 min on a Sunday for someone to stop - they only asked cause we were out there - otherwise I'm sure it woulda been loaded and gone! I put some guttering out bout 5 months ago - that took bout 15 min as well. I walked to the back lot, back to the front and bam............. gone.

| Texie - I have one question. Where do those folks come from? Like you said, back to the back yard and back to the front and it's gone.....where did they come from and where did they go THAT FAST? I'm wonderin' if there's a little family livin' in the storm sewer near our house. It happens just that fast up here, too. Kids have learned - even when they stop their bike at a friend's house they lock 'em up. We don't leave much in the yard when we go in, either - the phone's in a pocket and we usually have some cold something-or-other to drink along side. We've left stuff on the curb after trash day hoping somebody would take it with a "free" sign on it. When nobody takes it after the 3rd or 4th day, we take away the "free" sign and it's gone that night!

| Down here folks just drive up and down the streets in trucks lookin for scrap. I think that's what happened both times at my curb. Folks suppliment thier income or that is thier income. No one messes with stuff in our yard - it's always been at the curb and I'm grateful they took it. If we are outside they will ask but they are quick!!! We even had an old water heater picked up...........LOL

What next? Anyone know? |
