Exactly.......I absolutely agree Texie. In the overall scheme of things, considering what's been lost, this shouldn't even be on the priority radar.

My guess is the NRA card holders are workin over there - it's the folks that can't leave the politics where they belong that get on these kinda bandwagons. They see disaster as an opportunity to further thier cause. It's heartless and in extremely poor taste. I'm all for guns - hell I pack mine without a CC - cause it's what I feel I should do at times. I'm not much of a card carrier and I'm not real tolerant of folks that play politics during disasters. I don't need no friggin cards and I don't need no friggin recruitment of chaos during a disaster. Notice they were unregistared? Hell that coulda come from California or Chicago................. coulda been anyone that just found us cause of the newscoverage and such. I kinda equate posts like that to those damn male enhancement pills I keep gettin emails for. LOL LOL They know in a situation like a disaster it only takes one comment to focus on thier organization and not on the task at hand. It kinda makes the honorable members of the NRA look like morons.

I suspect there are more NRA members over there that anyone thinks. Including cops, firefighters and NG. I checked the NRA site and the first post was copied/pasted from there with no changes.

Think about the post “gathering information”, “verify claims” and “If reports are true”. I don’t have to ask to know why they’re doing it. After New Orleans there was a woman with food, water and a handgun for protection that just wanted to be left alone in her home. There was also a video of this nice woman that could have been TexKan or JayhawkMom being thrown against a wall and pulled to the floor by a couple of those nice, overly large police officers to take away her little pistol. The cops were going door to door and confiscating everyone’s guns so honest folks couldn’t defend themselves against the roving gangs.

If it was you that got mistreated wouldn’t you like to know someone with money and lawyers was on your side?

There isn't much corralation between the two events other than they are natural disasters. I doubt if Greensburg would have been a NO............ they knew that as well as anyone else. It was just something that really didn't have much to do with what Greensburg is going thru.............. speculation on the NRA's part is my guess.

I just think it's better to address the crisis not create one. I respect the NRA and agree with thier mission - just don't agree with thier timeing on this one issue.

I think your first assessment that they were just picking up guns that were unattended is most likely correct. The post said that NRA had “received reports” so they posted an 800 line to collect information. It isn’t like they are running around getting in the way. I’m not expecting to see any real problems come to light.
