| The best-est place to build both projects is that piece of farmland immediately south of the former marchell ranch. Easy access from the NW bypass, close to the municipal golf course, there's a walmart nearby, the motels are very close... but far enough away to capture the 'high rollers' into the center's motel. Oh, the cemetaries are nearby so those who don't really need to go home will have that choice, too.

| thanks for the research -- nice Board of Directors. 9/30/2006 Please note, some people could [could ????] have a conflict of Interest. Boot Hill Gaming Board “For Profit Corporation,” According to the filing made in The Kansas Secretary Of State Office. Jeff Thorpe, President (Fidelity Bank) Ed.Brancart, Secretary (Ford County Attorney) Kent Smoll, Treasure (Dodge City Commissioner) Kim Goodnight, (Ford County Commissioner) Dan Harris, (Fidelity Bank) Scott Chipman, (Fidelity Bank) Greg Starks, (Coldwell Banker) Chairman, CFAB Jim Coffin, (JAG Construction Co.) Joe Bogner, (Western Beverage) Severed on 1st. FAB Board Gee, when the money for the Event Center is used for the parking lot next to the casino, will that count as using tax money? When the location of both is brokered by a board member of both, will that count as conflict ? And the Ford County Attorney being on a gambling board -- hmmm, when is the next election ? Wonder which member of the public majority of Dodge City (ie, yes, representing the Hispanic community) will be on the board of any of this ? Time to say -- No Thanks. Given how this same group (basically) has managed other facilities (ie., Boot Hill, building Events Center ), let that be the decision maker on your vote. (And I would think later it should be a legal issue whether any of the elected/appointed officials can vote at all on the Events Center issues -- IF it is going to be a major portion of their casino -- and I wonder how many of the list already have shares of Butler ? ). |

| Casino and Events Center -- from Jeff Thorpe to Kansas House "It is a model of public-private partnership in the development of a destination casino/convention complex. The local voter approved a $30 Million convention/special event center – a natural companion to a destination Casino complex and the private development of Hotel facilities. Gaming compliments the investment platform Dodge City and Ford County citizens have already made in their community and our objective to be the center of regional entertainment facilities. Our convention capacity is planned to increase from less than 200 to 1,000. In addition, we have two new hotels under construction now." Has Nothing to Do with the Casino ? Please read more. Thanks. |

| You are the one not reading. They would like to build the casino near the Special Event Center because they feel it would be a natural fit to work closely with each other. But, the casino is not dependent on being built near the Special Event Center. Quote:

The casino -- your quote is from Butler, a company that MAY be chosen by the gambling group, Boot Hill Casino Inc. that MAY be chosen by the state, IF we approve the Casino ... etc....) -- my quote is from Boot Hill Gaming Inc. so back to the point -- how about all those CFAB board members and city/county commissioners being on Boot Hill Gaming Inc. board, etc. -- huh? We'll see what the vote is Tuesday and then follow the money. Any, ah, bets ? |

| If the casino passes (yes, I hope it does!), it's not a done deal that Butler OR Boot Hill Gaming will get the contract with the state to operate the casino. This vote is for allowing the state to place a casino within Ford County. We residents are voting in confidence of the state of Kansas. It's that simple. The rest of it, placement, who will operate, etc. will be set by the Kansas Lottery Commission. I've heard rumors in the wind that the indian tribes are very interested in operating these new casinos across the state. One of the tribes could very easily outbid Boothill Gaming and take hold of the casino license. If that were to happen, they could potentially build it anywhere in Ford County they see fit. Half way to Minneola, Spearville, Bucklin (along US 54). The voters are getting confused, and it's a shame. The reason there isn't more information is there isn't any to give. What really hacks me off are when the residents vote for something and then want to dictate exactly what will happen. I don't remember the average citizen deciding where the DCRP went. Or where Legends went. Or where Wal-Mart when looking to build the new dumphole they call a Supercenter, a private company like the casino developer, went. (Really, if we wanted to start cleaning up the town, how about starting with the inside of that store and the litter in the fields surrounding it!) That company, or the city, bought the land and developed their buildings and such in the way that best suited them. Shouldn't it be the same with all private enterprises? I could be all wet here, but we are trying to run 10 miles without taking the first step. If you want a casino in Ford County, anywhere mind you, vote for it. If you don't want a casino located in Ford County, then vote no. Just remember, this isn't a vote for or against Boothill Gaming. This vote is with the state lottery. |

| gee, sorry that citizens want to decide things "What really hacks me off are when the residents vote for something and then want to dictate exactly what will happen. I don't remember the average citizen deciding where the DCRP went. Or where Legends went. ..." Gee -- in the case of the public projects, the elected officials decided for us. In the case of the casino, no elected officials will be deciding anything. Big difference having a plan, a design, a cost, etc. for the Why Not Dodge ? vote -- and voting on just yes or no for a casino without any details at all. (of course, the details -- ie, dirt track -- do tend to change, I will grant -- ) And of course, for some having elected officials both financially involved privately and deciding publically how to benefit their private company is -- maybe illegal ? Just a guess........... |
