| "Why Not Dodge?" |
| |||
| gee, from the same guys that brought you asphalt Seems that many CFAB members, past and present, will make good money from these deals -- and the mayor is financially connected to many of them, too. Aren't there any laws? Is a recall of Smoll necessary ? Is there no other honest way out? What was given to the rest of the CFAB to allow this stealing of tax money ? |

| hmmm, an events center for Dodge is now a major cost savings (potentially -- water, roads, sewer, etc) for a privately run, state owned casino...and it would seem, if correct, that the same folks that decide the events center location are going to both be on the private casino management board (potentially) and sell the land to the casino and the city, and have and are on the CFAB board. Gee, and their accountant is Dodge City mayor Big Kent Smoll (and until a fast resignation, he was on the private casino potential management board) -- hmmm, golly, wonder how that plays in any ethical way ... and, oh yes, as is the CFAB Chair and the husband of the Mayor's business partner (thus, again, the accountant for the land owners/casino board members ) darn, I must not be understanding why we needed the events center to help Dodge City -- didn't read the fine print "$30 million to help the casino" when I voted in 1997. And certainly, I clearly need to understand the laws on giving profit to your business friends when deciding on spending tax money. |

| I wonder when the people of Dodge and Ford County will get fed up with this Bull$hit? As a outsider look'in in there seems to be alot of conflict of interest concerning the sec and the casino. A casino in Dodge may not be so bad and a events center may not be so bad. But why are so many politicians making money off this deal? It seems these boys are making a ton of money (taxpayers money). And why are the people letting them do it? Seems like alot of corruption for such a small town! |

| I'm with TexKan. Someone is going to make money and as long as we don't pay an inflated amount for the land who cares who it is. I think the location is a good choice and I think putting the SEC near the casino is a good choice. Personally I would have preferred a location closer to Boot Hill but no one asked me. Besides, I'm sure the land would have cost much more in town than on the outskirts.

| Hell I really do have that and I'd give em a piece if I could get a casino closer than 3 hours to me! LOL I'm tired of drivin 3 hours for a weekend. I could save lots in hotel fees if I were closer!
