| They do understand it, they just don't care. To those who truly are against it, the reason behind the name is irrelevant since it is a Demon now.

| They've done the same thing with the Liberal "Redskins". Apparently the Indians were offended by the term "Redskin" and there has always been a controversy with it. It's just a damn mascot! C'mon now! They should be honored!

| This isn't a pointed statement to anyone specific (MITUSA I surely don't want you to think I am singling you out) but what I want to know is what each of you are doing to make Dodge City a better place to be besides suggesting and hoping? Are any of you involved in something that could use help and more people involved? Are any of you able to point me in the direction of being part of the solution and not perpetuating the problem? I'm not there so I don't know where to begin. This probably doesn't need to be on this thread as it is a more general plea than the Demon but is anyone actually getting involved to make changes? |

| I have been involved for 30 years with the youth of DC. Couldn't get much help, but got alot of complaints! In addition to that, I have helped to bring programs, entertainment, sporting events, tournaments, etc, to Dodge over the years. I have supported the schools, the churches, the civic organizations, the charities, and anywhere else that I was asked to help out. I have spent time helping with the senior citizens, and have been involved in fund raisers for them and many other things around DC. I have finally worn out both physically and financially enough, that it is now someone else's time to do their part!I am not prejudiced, but I have to honestly say that our town is turning into a "ghetto" town with all of the immigration. The packers are a main influence in everything, and no one wants to buck them. I realize that things have changed alot since I was younger, but it is as if people do not give a $hit anymore about anyone but themselves! Needless vandalism, theft, destruction, shootings, robberies, murders, disrespect, no pride---------I could go on, but I think you get the picture. In addition, our tax situation here is totally ridiculous! We are one of the highest taxed entities in the State and the Nation, and what do we have for it??? Our governmental leadership is questionable most of the time. We waste money on things we cannot afford. The people vote, but it doesn't seem to mean anything. Our infrastructure is falling apart. We can't seem to support local businesses. No one seems to take any pride in their work anymore. This is just a brief response jackknife, but I think it will answer your questions; at least from my opinion. If you have anything further, please feel free to PM me, and I will see if I can clear up any questions. |

| Thank you so much for your detailed response. I'm glad you are so involved. Is there anything that you see that an out of towner might be put to use? I would really love to do more for my hometown other than cheer it on. |
