| Religion is NOT being forced out of anyone's life that I know of. In this country you have the right to go to Church and worship EACH and EVERY day. Last time I checked that was a freedom that has not been taken away or taxed. The fact is that people TRY TO FORCE religion in facets of our live's where it does NOT belong. Religion for example does NOT belong in a public school nor does it belong in public city, county or state buildings. If you cater to ONE religion you should cater to all, not just the majority. That's all good now for Christians but one day that may NOT be the majority Religion...then what? Are you going to petition for the Koran to be placed in school libraries? I highly doubt it.

| It has no place in this discussion I know, but I saw a cool T-Shirt yesterday: Jesus loves you... ...but everyone else thinks you are an a$$hole!

| I love how people can totally ignore the obvious in pursuit of their own wants. Obviously our founding fathers were god fearing religious people. The concept of separation of church and state has been distorted from its original intent. Why do you suppose, until recently, our schools and state meetings started with a prayer? Our founding fathers that created this "separation of church and state" had no problem with religion in the capital or schools.

"Of course many Americans did practice Christianity, but so also did many believe in deistic philosophy. Indeed, most of our influential Founding Fathers, although they respected the rights of other religionists, held to deism and Freemasonry tenets rather than to Christianity." Jefferson, Adams, Paine, Madison, Franklin were all free thinkers. (meaning not really Christians as it's hard for a Christian to have any "free" thought) Our Founding Fathers Were NOT Christians The U.S. NOT founded upon Christianity The Founding Fathers Were NOT Christians or Secular Humanists: a Refutation of Steven Morris
