There are alot of documentaries now re/ Bible stories, that have confirmed the existence and the proof of what the authors of the book were saying.

Seem there has been a rush by the scientific community to prove or disprove the stories. I watch these scientific conclusions every time I know they are on.

They are on HISTORY CHANNEL, BIOGRAPHY CHANNEL, DISCOVERY CHANNEL, PBS, and the news channels will have specials, and others. I find them fascinating to say the least.

The Bible does have credibility ..................... Don't let it frighten you.

You have to read it in the context and the TIME it was written.
Ancient is the key word . Ancient Egypt , Rome, Babylon .....just check out the ancient maps and imagine the area of those days.

Lol..there are a lot of fiction books that also make reference's to places in the world whether they are ancient or not. That in it'self does not give it credibility as a fact. There have been just as many documentaries disproving many things in the bible as fiction...how do you feel about those?

How else can you determine fact from fiction if not through testing? Wouldn't it be rather ignorant to assume since some is fiction it all is?

Just because it airs on the Discovery Channel, the History Channel, PBS, or any other "legit" channel, DOESN'T MEAN IT'S FACTUAL AND CORRECT.

Just because you see it, read it, or hear it doesn't mean it's true.

How can you test the parting of the Red Sea?

You can't, but what you can test is IF the journey happened, IF the dates are correct and IF the people stated were actually there. Just about everything but the parting of the Red Sea is testable.

As far as the parting of the Red Sea it has been hypothesized that Mosses was familiar with the area and knew of the tides that flooded the plains at certain times of the year connecting two area of the Red Sea that were dry that time of year. He led the people there and waited knowing when the plains, that were dry at that time, would flood making crossing of chariots impossible.

So the biblical cities shown to have been found were fake?

That is what makes the difference between truth and facts...the truth isn't as absolute as we think it is, it is colored by our perceptions. Somebody could tell me that their wife is beautiful and they are telling the truth. But if I disagree, does that make me a liar?

That is where facts come in. Facts are stubborn things, they are verifiable. Facts don't change with the political mood. Once you know the facts the truth becomes obvious.
