It has been a tough couple of days. Trying to keep my emotions in check over my best friend Steve, but it is hard.
I have been thinking very hard on the upcoming city race. My close friends want me to run, some of my family are less enthusiastic. Do I want to put myself in the spotlight? Am I willing to take some heat? I have nothing to hide and will answer any question, as long as it is relevant, honestly and to the point. It will financially be tough since I will be spending my own money (which is not a whole lot lol) but I feel very strong about my opinions and maybe I can get some people to stop and think for once. Who knows? Nothing ventured, nothing gained right? The driving force is my son. I told him what i wanted to do and he looked at me and said "I am proud of you dad." and hugged me. Yeah, that is the BEST damn feeling in the world!

Is it personal or in the best interest of the public?
Would you be doing what you think is right, not what everyone on the board wants)?
Are you influenced by the city leaders?

Dutch, I don’t know you personally but I think that I would like to. I’ve read your posts and it sounds like you are a stand up guy and not a “Walking Eagle”. We all could use a little more stand up instead of BS with our leaders at all levels. I think that if you don’t give it your best shot you will always look back and ask yourself “What if.”
