It has been a tough couple of days. Trying to keep my emotions in check over my best friend Steve, but it is hard.
I have been thinking very hard on the upcoming city race. My close friends want me to run, some of my family are less enthusiastic. Do I want to put myself in the spotlight? Am I willing to take some heat? I have nothing to hide and will answer any question, as long as it is relevant, honestly and to the point. It will financially be tough since I will be spending my own money (which is not a whole lot lol) but I feel very strong about my opinions and maybe I can get some people to stop and think for once. Who knows? Nothing ventured, nothing gained right? The driving force is my son. I told him what i wanted to do and he looked at me and said "I am proud of you dad." and hugged me. Yeah, that is the BEST damn feeling in the world!

| |  Dutch, I don’t know you personally but I think that I would like to. I’ve read your posts and it sounds like you are a stand up guy and not a “Walking Eagle”. We all could use a little more stand up instead of BS with our leaders at all levels. I think that if you don’t give it your best shot you will always look back and ask yourself “What if.” Best of luck to you whatever you decide to do. |
