FAQ Update: DodgeBoard Rules added

We've made some additions to the FAQ to include a TOU (Terms of Use) for DodgeBoard as well as some acronym definitions. All users should read the updated code of conduct at their convenience.

Messages are typically deleted as a result of the following:

Profanity in subject lines or signatures, or profanity within messages
Spamming or commercial solicitation in inappropriate forums or areas
Flaming other members with the apparent intent of inciting or perpetuating a conflict or argument
Bombing forums or individual threads with repetitive, pointless posts
Posting personal e-mail or chat dialogues
Posting pornographic or otherwise objectionable material
Impersonating other individuals or false representation
Discussion of illegal activity, or posting links to other websites that deal with such activities
Posting replies that point out mispellings and grammar mistakes
Posts made under secondary usernames or other aliases
Posts which are completely unrelated to the forum in which they are posted
Excessive cross-posting (this is considered spam)
Posts which breach another member's privacy, i.e. containing phone numbers, addresses, etc

What constitutes Profanity?

Flaming other members with the apparent intent of inciting or perpetuating a conflict or argument

Gotta agree with Lurker on this one. That's just fun.

Posting pornographic or otherwise objectionable material

Again, what's pornographic? Lurker and Highway post stuff I find objectionable all the time. Who's defenition are we using?

As much as it hurts my fingers to type this....Wordy has a point...some of the things I find amusing on here others may find objectionable...

Most of that is just a canned TOU from vBulletin.

Please don't misunderstand this- our current members are outstanding!!

All boards have a rules section or membership TOU. We had been operating without one. A recent banned user (I wont mention any names cause he had plenty) who decided to just keep signing back up again each time he got banned, decided he wanted to argue the rules of the board with the administrators- only thing was, there weren't any to support us. So now there are and I reserve the right to impose or "fall back on them" as Tex said, in the event that "the rules" become a subject of debate again. Otherwise, HAVE FUN and don't worry about all that legal mumbo jumbo.
