Same problem here, too. It must be wanting new cookies.

I've been clicking the little button by the last poster's name.

Does anybody list the posts with the newest first? Upside down...

I always have used the little box next to the last poster's name - it just was quicker for me.

Inaccurate cookie based message tracking has been a known issue since vBulletin 3.5.4. Some of the boards you may be visiting may be using database tracking which is more accurate.

We could turn on database tracking instead of cookie based, but that option increases server load and bandwidth and may slow the board down a little. Let me know if you'd like me to try it. I would need you to be a test subject.

I've noticed that this version pastes the page name over the url when posting a link. I'm gunna paste the url of this reply onto this page and see what it shows as. FYI the url is: cPanelXX.dodgeboard.com/forums/newreply.php?do=newreply&noquote=1&p=22632

And the paste is: http://www.dodgeboard.com/forums/new...uote=1&p=22632

Welpers, the reply didn't have a page name. This time it's wXw.dodgeboard.com

It's due to the SEO we have installed.

Search engines use relevancy to calculate pagerank. So if the URL is relevant to the words found in the link, the pagerank calculated is much higher. Our new SEO enhancement dynamically converts this:

HTML Code:
http://www.dodgeboard.com/forums/newreply.php?do=newreply&noquote=1&p=22635
To something like this:

HTML Code:
http://www.dodgeboard.com/forums/boardroom/2265-we-performing-upgrade-2.html#post22635
And then dynamically rewrites the page as an html page instead of PHP.

It does this because search engines have a hard time following the code in PHP files and rank html files much higher on their pages, not only because they are in html format, but also because the URL and content are closely related.

Does that make sense?

I don’t have any idea how much it would slow the board down and bandwidth usage, but having to go to the last post and scroll back to the first unread post can be time consuming and annoying. Especially if the unread posts span more than one page.

Just say the word!

I am turning on databse tracking instead of cookie based. we can try it out.

You may have to log out and then back in for the changes to take affect.

Please report your findings as it pertains to post marking accuracy and board speed throughout the next couple of days.

Okay?
