Why can't we simply post without having to worry about reputation points, spanks, thanks, and Uncle Tom Cobley and all?

    Do we really need it?

I think I'll take the Webster's New World Dictionary over your Ask Me link...

So it is proper to say that the majority want it back.

Not that it's all that important to me.
From dictionary.com...discredit it too if you like.

"Majority, plurality, in the context of an election, poll, or other voting situation resulting in a statistically based statement, both denote an amount or number larger than some other. In situations in which only two candidates, options, or positions are concerned, the terms are interchangeable, though majority is by far the more commonly used: She beat her opponent by a large majority. The proposal received a large plurality of “Yes” votes. When three or more choices are available, however, a distinction is made between majority and plurality. A majority, then, consists of more than one-half of all the votes cast, while a plurality is merely the number of votes one candidate receives in excess of the votes for the candidate with the next largest number. Thus, in an election in which three candidates receive respectively 500, 300, and 200 votes, the first candidate has a plurality of 200 votes, but not a majority of all the votes cast. If the three candidates receive 600, 300, and 100 votes, the first has a majority of 100 votes (that is 100 votes more than one-half the total of 1000 cast) and a plurality of 300 votes over the nearest opponent."

Hey let's play a game called I don't care what the actual term is. I just care that most of the votes are for bringing back the rep system without anonymity.

The definition game is a diversion from the fact that two of the choices are far more popular than The Drifter's preference.

D...when I posted what I did the results were 50% for bringing the old rep back w/ name sig...and the rest together added up to 50%. Since then the vote has shifted somewhat.

The thing is with this vote if there isn't an end time posted the admin can cut it off as soon as he/she gets the results they want. There should have been a termination date. It's been up for about a week and I believe that everyone that has wanted to vote has had the chance....soooooooo, I ask again...when does the Rep system come back...or was this poll just for shitz and grinz.

I really don't appreciate your tone.

Don't you think if the admin was like that, he/she would just implement the changes desired and scrap the whole poll process altogether? That would be easier and I wouldn't have to endure the bickering and whining about how unfair the poll is even before its completed.

Most other admins run forums without any input from it's members, and I am beginning to understand why. I do however, feel it is important but thankless, to include the members in the boards' policy decisions, especially on a local community run board.

It's been 4 1/2 days since the poll was posted (not a week), and it's a holiday weekend. Many of our members only check the board once a week. I don't understand the hurry unless it's because you fear that you wont get your way. People are still voting. Personally, I will be fine if the poll goes against my personal desires- Will you?

I made the poll a public poll so that you Army, could monitor who had voted and see that it was fair and valid. I'm sorry that I did not achieve my intended result.

Let's let the poll go for a week. Then I will decide where we go from here, and implement any changes in the board as my schedule permits. As the administrator, I believe I should be afforded that luxury. Don't you?
