Ok i have a question. How do i know if im on the left channel or the right channel?? Or do i really have a choice.. i just get to listen to either one?

You should get both at the same time.

If you hear traffic out your left speaker its probably the DCPD. If you hear traffic out your right speaker its probably Sheriff/EMS. You can listen to both at the same time if both are talking at the same time.

Me again. Not sure if this is the place to do this or not, but does anybody happen to have or can they tell me how to get ahold of the list of 10-numbers. Like 10-47.... I believe that is an accident or injury accident.. not sure. I want to understand what they are saying. 10-4?

is it just me or on SO channel (the right speaker) is the squelch a problem? seems as though after the mic is keyed up and let go I get a lot of static only on the SO channel.
Seems common with my scanner when the squelch is too high or too low can't remember which it is.

Following Lurker's link, the codes on that site that are most accurate for us are the same ones that the Highway patrol uses. The big cities tend to mix them up so the public doesn't know whats going on.

in our case we pick Kansas from the pull down menu and scroll down at that page it shows 10 codes for various areas.
