What are these guys trying to do?

NEWTON - The Newton City Commission has moved a step closer toward finding property tax relief.

The city commission task force on the local sales tax recommended to the commission that half the funds be used to reduce and relieve property sales taxes, another 25 percent be used for major infrastructure projects (roads, sewers, sidewalks, etc.), and the final 25 percent be used for job creation and economic growth to build the tax base for the future.

Don't they understand that the way to reduce property taxes is to build stuff that costs money to operate; and then wait for a racino to save 'em?
