Maybe not, but it was voted for by the people of Dodge City. To stop it from being built, that option should be put to the voters. Electing a city commisioner can't stop it from being built. They are not that powerful. example ballot question: Should the Special Events Center continue as originally planned? ____Yes____No

| Bubba are you even going to support the Special Events Center in any way?? Half the people who bitched about the race track being asphalt I don't even think go to the damn races! I am sorry but I think the SEC is a dumbass move on our parts if we decide to build the damn thing. We can't even fill the damn Civic Center!!! Heres what we should do.....Build onto the Civic Center if we want a bigger place. All that land by the swimming pool and the Middle School, we should make it the parking. I know a big hill there but we can figure it out im sure. LOL! OR what the hell is that empty building outside of Dodge going to Wright Kansas??? I am sorry guys but I do not support the SEC and I will tell you all why. I don't think we can keep it open, I don't think the people will support it enough and I damn sure don't think anyone will come to this town to see a major event or have a major convention. Who the hell wants to come here?? It smells like cow poop! Well I will tell you who.....the people who make this town smell like that! that's who!!!! Get real people and wake the hell up. Those are the only people who are going to support a SEC and you know it, I know it, and the Chamber sure the !%#$& KNOWS IT!!!! The people who are supporting the SEC is the people represented by the Chamber of Commerce. I am going to be blunt here (aren't I always) We keep building new things like this.....WE AREN'T EVER, AND I MEAN EVER, GETTING RID OF EXCEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Vote for the people, vote for Kimminau and Boetcher OK I am done ranting.......carry on! LOL

| My 2 cents The question of if the SEC should be built is a whole other discussion, or at least it should be. Apparently the voting majority felt it should be built, discussion over. I thought the idea of putting dirt on the racetrack was about the stupidest idea I've ever heard but then thats what was voted for so like it or not its dirt. Point being the real issue here is that certain people in town seem to have the power to override the voters votes. It should have been built once it was voted in but instead the water has been filled with mud, as usual, in an attempt to defy voters. Ever get the feeling you're just a puppet on a string? Time to cut the strings and put decisions back in the hands of voters. Even if we don't agree with the majority choice we must agree to honer that choice. This "I don't agree with the vote so lets vote again" crap is getting old. Wheres the incentive to vote if it means nothing? Whats at stake here is not IF we can fill it but getting what was voted and paid for.

| I agree Detector the people spoke and good or bad who the hell do these two a-holes think they are to tell everyone they don't want it so it should'nt be built. That's like a little kid getting mad so he takes his ball and goes home so no one can play. I still want someone to tell me how they propose to stop it and how they are going to lower property taxes. They are just trying to tamp sand up our ass and I for one don't care for any.
