| $332,276.87. That is figuring the salaries of the staff to maintain it, the chemicals to keep the water clean, the pumps to circulate the water, the filtration system, the electricity to run everything, etc. PS. If Kimminau and Boettcher can pull numbers out of thin air for their advertising I figured I can do a good job at it too. Last edited by Captain Kemical; 03-31-2006 at 08:18 PM. |

"Based on our experience with pool planning, we developed an expense projection of $450,000 for your proposed outdoor pool." That is for three months operation... it's closed nine out of 12 months. "We project the annual operation costs for the proposed indoor pool facilities to be between $350,000 and $400,000." So, around $800,000 to $850,000 per year, with the biggest part of the project closed for nine months of the year. Oh, by the way, operational expenses of the Event Center are estimated to be $450,000 to $500,000 per year... and open year-round! This information is available at City Hall (that's where I got it)... JUST ASK. |

| [quote=Demon '84]So, I think we're getting the the core of your problem... It's not the Event Center, it's the Hispanics, legal or otherwise. Demon It's not hispanics in general, it's illegal immigrants that take away from legal people. I believe that we have alot of problems here in DC, and before we build anything or try to remodel this town, we need to get rid of some crap that got us in this mess. What I mean by mess is the fact that people don't want to come here anymore. Why don't they want to come here??? Have you taken a good look at this place lately? It's not very pretty here. It stinks like cow blood, and shit, and it's full of drugs. We have problems people and we need to deal with them. A SEC isn't going to solve our problems. I am sorry, this is just how I feel.

If this is how you feel, (I think a lot of people do), how can you support Kimminau and Boettcher? Kimminau has supported every tax break for the packing plants that has come along, and Boettcher WORKS at one of the the plants... where do you think HIS loyalty will be? Once again, tax breaks for the packing plants and hotel corporations, and property tax increases for everyone else... THAT is Kimminau's record, and you can be sure Boettcher would do the same. |

| $ .500,000 SEC $ .850,000 H2O $1,350,000 $3,698.63 EACH AND EVERY DAY, JUST FOR those OPERATING EXPENSES..... Plus the existing Civic Center's costs. Plus the existing DCRP's costs. Plus the existing Ball Park's costs. Plus supporting the Golf Course' costs. Plus supporting Boot Hill. Plus supporting RoundUP. Damn, I'm only having fun dodging cracks and dips in the roads....

You seem to have a talent for missing the point. A water park is NOT part of the Why Not Dodge projects. A Special Events Center is. Kimminau and Boettcher have both said they would stop the Events Center, but support a water park. Second, The golf course, Boot Hill, and Round Up aren't WND projects either. Why don't you just throw in police and fire protection. Look, it's fine to have an opinion, but when you don't know the facts (or just don't want to acknowledge them), it doesn't carry much weight. If you come up with some factual information that supports your opinion, I'd love to see it. In the meantime, I'll continue to conclude that your opinion is based on ignorance. |
