| Well, it looks like the city has spoken and they felt that Kimminau was part of the problem. He even got fewer votes than Boettcher! Our next commissioners appear to be Sowers, Smoll and Lembright. Candidate Name Votes Cast Mike Boettcher 1390 Ed Kimminau 1342 Jim Lembright 1580 Connie S. Penick 1173 E. Kent Smoll 1784 Rick Sowers 2046 Precincts reporting 6 of 6

| I'll save my congratulations/condolences for a year or so. My prediction is based on history. I predict the new officials will become disenchanted/disappointed with their jobs in less than 2 years and voters will be crying about their performance within a year. I believe the problem is voters have tunnel vision. Not so much by choice as by slight of hand of the real powers in dodge. Voters focus on petty short-term issues and vote accordingly. FOP, Dirt Track and now SEC. The real powers are quite good at using the time tested tactic of divide and conquer. The real longterm issues are avoided by giving voters these little issues to fight over keeping them distracted from the bigger issues. The real powers, that set on many boards, pull the strings that divide the city making a concentrated effort to cut their positions of absolute power impossible. This town now survives on immigrants. The same people that turned this city into a packinghouse town gave absolute power to pull the strings of our city's future. They divide voters by throwing bones to a few in the right position to keep them in power. Who are in a position to influence future Dodge Citians? Teachers. We have some of the highest paid teachers in the state thanks to our immigrant explosion and the powers making sure they understand where this wage comes from. Immigrants. The same immigrants these real powers need to keep a hold on the strings. What voters need to do is look past their short-term personal agendas handed to them to keep them occupied and unite to address the real problems facing the future of our town.
