Dodge City,

I would like to thank everyone who got out and voted for the city commissioners and the new elementary school.

Even though I came in 4th on the commission race it was a good experience and I have no regrets.

I believe with all my heart that Rick Sowers, Kent Smoll and Jim Lembright are good men with the best interest of Dodge City at heart. I did contact each one and congradulated them on their success.

However, I do have concerns concerning the dirty, mud slinging campaign tactics of High Plains Journal. The mass mailing from HPJ was not organized from any of my opponents. They are above that. High Plains Journal must, at some point take responsibility for their employees action, and for the letter that was sent from their place of business.

I also believe it takes little courage to sit behind a computer and make false allegations about a candidate with out giving a name.

All in all, it was a goood race and I hope Dodge City will continue to grow and prosper.

Again, thanks for getting out and excercizing you right to vote!

If I could vote I'd say thanks......... but instead I will say thanks for running and giving voters a choice. I don't persoanlly know your platform but have agreed with your letters to the Glob. I wasn't aware of HPJ interferrence. If that's true seems HPJ could be held accountable for the employees actions especially if that employee used letterhead from said company. If the letters weren't slanderous in nature then it's just politics as usual and business owners who disagree should take thier advertising elsewhere........

If you are truely passionate about your platform - hang in there - that's the great thing about politics - there is always another election just down the road. Be a force of change - even if you are not elected the first time - your influence can be more beneficial than your vote on DC council.

Way to go Mike. You must have stepped on some toes of the "good ole boys" if you got things like that happening to you. This City needs more people willing to go against the grain, and fight for us average citizens.
Since I live in the county, I could not vote for City Commission. Thanks for running, and don't give up!!
