But, I dont go haulin balls to catch up with someone - if I cant turn around safely or pull into traffic safely, then oh well, another will be along in a few minutes. As an ex-field trainer, I would train my new guys to be aware of their surroundings when they pull someone over - if it is not safe to do, then wait before hitting the overheads to stop someone until they can pull over, out of the way of others. This is me and my training...not all do it the same way.
If you do have a problem with a particular officer then by all means, let admin at the PD know about it - the last thing I want is my chosen profession with my chosen department to look bad in the public's eye. Blame the person, not the group.
As far as watching videos, I doubt they would let you. However, if you reported the incident, the video will more than likely be reviewed by the admin. Now if you were a defendant in a case, and there was a video tape, your lawyer could subpoena it. |
Radio, Good for you for having maturity and descretion.
I don't have a clue about the officer(s) or the name(s) and this is not a personal issue. I don't even know any active officers.
I won't venture into the PD without concrete proof and the only source would be the car's videos. It's too bad that any Dodge City resident can't get a viewing of the tapes.... Especially since they are the property of the public, taken on public property with publicly owned equipment by publicly paid employees with the justification of protecting the public.
If you have the pull and want to do your own viewing, then I simply ask you to view videos taken last Monday at about 8:30 am. The b&w left the parking lot and 180'd onto Earp heading east and took the offender between McD's parking lot and 4th. Street. I will bet one whole US Dollar that the b&w was running 38 mph across 7th. street. Friday's Silver Spur takedown occured at approximately 11:40 am. White pu & trailer.
