Problem intersections in DC?

Let's face it; Dodge City's traffic flow sux bigtime and most intersections really hate me. Especially going north on Second and turning west on Earp.... Welp, I hate it worse than it hates me cuz it seems to want to keep me there and all I wreeeely want to do is get past it.

What intersection or street wreeeeely pisses you off?

Any intersection that has the light timed at 2 minutes before it changes from red to green. Many are like there up here in the metro and it just plain destroys all my plans of getting to work on time if I hit 'em all red. Shucks!

I wait at Ross and 14th for 5-10 minutes in the morning during highschool rush. Even when it turns red for the south side, 6 or seven more cars will go- you'd think they were all attached. They just hate waiting another round of lights, so they rob the southbound traffic of 14 seconds of their measly 15 second allotment. The south side already gets about 5 minutes. So much for smart traffic signals. I've seen times where four or five of us will be waiting in the southbound lanes and only one of us will make it thru, and on a yellow light.

They really need to get another way into the highschool.

6th and any street from mulberry to oak. You can't see a damn thing if you're trying to either pull onto sixth or head across it, you've got to bravely stick your nose out there to see if anything is coming and then if you go too far out you have to stomp on it to avoid collision. I'm not a fan of 6th.

Just about any intersection on Third during and after a hard rain.

Does make for good spectator sport as long as your car is somewhere else.

I used to dread the south side of Wyatt Earp downtown around (I think it was 2nd and 3rd), that whole series of lights got me everytime. Never liked how they redid the Commanche and Central intersection either. To this day I wonder how I got out of DC without the need for collision repair.

I'm not a big fan of the 4-way stop on 6th and comanche, noone wants to yield the right of way and someone always tries to run me over. Acutally I'm not a big fan of 6th in general either. They need to make some more driveways or something and get those cars off the street. I also don't like the 2nd and spruce intersection since they took out the stoplights and put in stop signs, it's very hard to see oncoming traffic on Spruce unless you're out in the middle of the intersection.

Hutchinson has one "roundabout" that is very efficient in controlling traffic flow and wants another one.

Reno County commissioners will keep a proposed $860,000 roundabout at 56th and Plum near the top of their wish list submitted to the Kansas Department of Transportation.

However, a roundabout "is the preferred long-term" solution, advised TranSystems Corp., Kansas City, Mo., because it would move traffic more efficiently and provide "the most crash-reduction benefits."

I would like to see our bronze steer moved into the middle of Earp & Second so'z we all could drive around him instead of waiting for green lights.

I believe there are over 120 uncontrolled intersections in Dodge City! We constantly work accidents at these locations. Especially on the east side. Remember....Yield to the person on your RIGHT!
