Who are you voting for and why?

I am voting for Connie because she is against free tuition for illegal aliens, is for alternative theories to evolution being taught and thinks the schools need to live within their current budget and not ask for more and more money. Did you know that currently 68% of the states entire budget goes to schools, while 32% is left for roads, law enforcement, SRS and all the other expendetures?

Sally, on the other hand is for raising taxes to give the schools more money, is for illegal aliens and free tuition and teaching in spanish, and is against any theory except evolution.

Did anyone see the PBS debate the other day? Sally read from her notes, her pre-canned and evasive statements while Connie spoke from the heart about her beliefs which seem very common-sense.

No doubt our skrewls are out of control and the blame lies directly on the Feds.... who are forbidden from exerting direct control on state school systems..... so they provide 'grants' for programs ..... What a crock of shit.

Anywho, we have been suckered into providing 'early' and even 'early-early' child nurturing programs whilst removing parental responsibility.... all the while, we seem to be trying to fit millions of chilllllren into a single mold that's neither productive nor beneficial.....

Wait,.... our chillllllren seem to be rather good at re-production.

Back to the onliest problem in Amerika.... too much money goes through Washington.

I'm with you! Connie Morris is the person for the job! I'm voting for Connie!

I know that Sally has done alot of mass mailings with very little information about her real stance.

Connie is a conserative with a back bone, and that is what we need.

Also voting for Canfield. Although I'm a Repubican I think that Kathy has done a pretty good job. (with a few exceptions)

Also voting for Kline. A good man with a real agenda! (doing what is right)

I was impressed that Canfield took part in Dodge City Days along with Ron Thornbugh and Kline.

I watched the debate on the School Board Members, and I watched the one today with the Candidates for Governor. I was kinda impressed by the third school board candidate, Mr. Cruz from Garden City. I noticed he was in the DC Days parade too. The only problems that I have with his position, is his stance on illegals. SAlly Cauble seemed out of touch to me, and lost most of the time in her comments. I agree with most of what Connie MOrris had to say, and I will vote for her until something better comes along.

On the Governor Candidates, I thought JIm Barnett gave good answers, and directly answered the questions presented without beating around the bush. Some of the others were either lost, didn't know the issues, or just "BS" d alot like a real politician.

I guess we will see on Tuesday-------------

Cruz makes no bones about his position with illegal aliens. He believes they should get tuition free and he believes they should be taught in spanish, with the schools bearing the extra cost. That is what he said on the first debate. You are right about Sally Cauble getting lost in her own words- she talks like a politition pandering to all sides without really saying much of anything. She has no backbone. Connie lays it all out and is not afraid to let you know which way she slants on any subject-that's what I like about her.

Canfield offers view on strict new immigration law passed in Colorado
This weekend Dr. Ken Canfield, Republican candidate for Governor, praised Colorado for addressing the cost of illegal immigration at the state level. "My friend, Governor Bill Owens, has demonstrated great leadership working with the Colorado legislature to bring accountability and enforcement to the illegal immigration problem.”

This past week Colorado passed a bi-partisan bill that requires anyone receiving public assistance to prove they are a U.S. citizen or a legal permanent resident. It is estimated that this process will remove 50,000 illegal immigrants from receiving public benefits in the state.

"I believe that with the passage of this legislation and implementation of it on August 1, Kansas will see an influx of illegal immigrants from Colorado," Canfield said. "Whenever a neighboring state steps forward with tough legislation to curtail illegal activity, the bordering states receive the fall out. For that very reason, I will, if elected, introduce legislation to implement the same guidelines outlined in the Colorado legislation but will take it a step further by asking for mandatory sentences and fines for anyone producing false documents for illegal immigrants to beat the system."

The Colorado law requires people applying for assistance to sign an affidavit attesting to their legal status and if the affidavit is signed falsely each offense would carry a maximum penalty of 18 months in jail, a $5,000 fine or both.

Canfield noted that the incumbent governor supports in-state tuition and driver’s licenses to illegal residents, encouraging more illegal immigration to our state. “The tax burden on Kansans is unfair as it is. Why should Kansans have to work even harder to pay for benefits to people who are breaking the law?”

If that is Cruz's position maybe he should move to Mexico! Then he could have all the kids he wants taught in Spanish.
