Maybe I mispoke, it could have been a six figure tax bill, not just property taxes. That would include real estate taxes, personal property taxes, etc.

I will have more first hand knowledge after christmas.....

That is real estate and personal property. Business assets would include go-carts to pencils and should be on a different bill; but I can't imagine that to be another $56,000.00...

i worked there and i thought it was an alright place...putt putt sucked, but the go-karts and what not were cool. Thing that detered people was the price to do stuff.

Throw a skating rink on that beast, have some deal with the schools on fridays and what not. would give kids somethin to do instead of writing on walls or flippin cars over. We had some deal back when i was in grade school with the skating rink. Was a good deal.

Thinking about the 6 figure deal, I wouldn't be surprised if taxes and insurance approached 6 figures. It will cost DC taxpayers that, too. Insurance plus "lost" tax revenue; that will still be spent and wrested from the rest of us.

plus...didn't the Globe article mention a clause (not santa) to where they could give it back if it wasn't making money? That sounds like a pretty good deal.

I agree though that it won't work. Maybe they should open one of them there taco stands next to it that some on here speak so highly of.

Like I said, I'll have more first-hand knowledge after christmas, then I will give more details.

Also, if it doesn't work it won't cost the taxpayers anything because for now the city is only leasing it......

It's not so much a clause, as it is mis-reporting by the globe.

It is only a 3 year lease for now, if it looks like it will work before the 3 years is up, the city can buy it early, if it doesn't look like it will work, the city won't buy it.
