| Knowing that this isn't an OFFICIAL poll of any kind and that it won't have anything to bear on Mayor Lee's decision to resign or not to resign: He hasn't done anything illegal. Maybe morally, you disagree with his personal decision to file personal bankruptcy. Perhaps that brings his ability to manage into question. Perhaps not. I don't know that we're in a position to know. So I answered undecided. Until somebody gives me proof that he's a con or worse, than he deserves the office to which he was appointed. The shame should be on the commissioners that appointed him, if he is, indeed, a bad manager. They would have been in a better position to know his abilities or lack thereof.

| I never have understood why the people don't get to vote on the mayor like they do in real towns. It should be separate races, one for mayor, then 4 for commision.

| It's probably because they don't think us common folk have the brains or ability to make important choices such as that. ![]()

| I think if he only had $10 in assets...he better hang on to that job - I wouldn't resign if I were him - I would try to stay way under radar for awhile just out of embarresment - but that's just the social stigma thing.Other than that he didn't break any laws so why resign........those dumbasses would have to fire me........plus they would have to show me proof that I can't manage my job - just cause my check book looks bad don't mean I'm a crummy employee.........

| Did anyone read Mayor Lee's letter in Wednesday's Globe? (editorial page) Before he delved into his explanation of his financial issue he touched on the new FFAB(?) members and how they will move on paying for a water park here. By Got' der'z money der and it need$ to be $pent! And don't use it to pay-down infrastructure expenses. That's what property taxes are for.

| I will bet he had more than $10 in his wallet the day he drove to Wichita for court. According to court papers, he wouldn't have had enough to even get back to Dodge. Maybe the cash you are carrying doesn't count? How do you explain that one? remember he doesn't have any credit cards now to pay for gas. |

| Ya know I have been thinking about how I felt that since this was his private life that he should have not been asked to step down. After careful thought and reading - I want to throw out a new opinion that I knew about but did not stop to consider. My son who is very protective of his credit rating and his wifes made me think of this point of view. (He has gone to the point to put her in "rehab" for credit cards - that means he cancels hers...LOL) A cop's credit rating is something any department looks at when hiring. Cops have to have good credit - ya can't have a cop out there chasin the bad guys with bad credit - too easy to fall into the many gutters out there they trudge thru. Plus if ya can't count on a cop - well need I say more. Used to be that cops could "owe" like most of us - but bad credit cops are a liability to the city and the department they represent. Now take this same ideaology and apply it to politics. I think he can do his job no matter what his checkbook shows but I also wonder - will it be more of a temptation to him to cut a deal with someone that could help him out of this bad financial situation? What does it say about DC - when the mayor can't manage his own finances. Now I'm not SURE if my mind is changed - but I sure am startin to think that maybe I didn't think the "whole" thing out.
