| I think a West World theme would do well in dodge. You've got to remember we have one thing no other theme park has, and that is real history to back it up. A Wild West theme could do wonders for Dodge City's shattered reputation. Some people may not care much for what some of our local ranchers are doing but they are at least trying. Thats more than most businesses around here. And though you may not care for the food you also got to remember food in the old west wasn't much for taste either. Our family went to one of those ranch feeds in Colorado. We waited almost a month on a list before we could go. We road horses, watched cowboys do rope trick, shoe horses, churn butter and had a trail ride. The food was terrible both at the ranch and on the trail. The tourists loved it. One thing I will say is I love the outfits of them guys. I see them around town and they still dress the part. I love it.

| CASINO! Right now it would probably be hard to find a business that wants to set up in Dodge besides some factory or plant that just rapes the ground and ruins the area....BUT...if you build a CASINO I feel like you would have people lining up to bring business to Dodge because Casino's bring PEOPLE. PEOPLE pay for BUS trips just go to to the casino....they spend the night, eat, look around, shop, buy gas, use ATM machines (probably of a lot of that...lol)

| I agree with army of one, bringing in a casino would draw in all the crowds hispanics and whites. Gambling appeals to all. Not saying that your West World theme wouldn't work, maybe you could incorporate into a casino, but that alone don't really think it would do much out here. Coming from a hipanic background it wouldn't be something that my family would be excited to attend, (I would find it interesting, but I would be an exception). Especially since most of the people that live in Dodge are hispanic who probably work at one of the beef plants, and are what my husband would call 'hardcore' mexicans, which I agree. Don't think they'd like to go 'watch cowboys do rope trick, shoe horses, churn butter or a trail ride...' |

You might be surprised just how appealing returning to the west is to may tourists. Especially those from over seas. Now I completely agree 100% on the casino. After all, whats a good western experience without gambling? The gambling would be a plus for the local population. Um... besides the race track.

| Speaking of overseas guests I remember reading about Hawaii being a big tourist draw for the Japanese. Guns are banned in Japan so the spots in Hawaii that rent 22’s to shoot at a target are huge draws and money makers. For many Japanese it is their once in a lifetime chance to handle and fire a real firearm.

| You have to convince the Legislators to allow gambling, other than the Injun casinos. Gee, I wonder if any "gambling" goes on now in DC?? The "hispanic horse track" and the bookees, come to mind! ![]() |
