| SEC question I know this is short notice, but I could sure use some help. Is there anyone out there who attended the CFAB's meetings with the Heritage Development Group and Global Entertainment Corp. and strongly favors the Global proposal? If someone fits that description and is willing to comment for publication in the Globe, please call me at (620) 408-9917 before 9 p.m. today (Monday, Jan. 29). I would sure appreciate it! |

| If I remember right, the last proposal was to put it east of the park, with the city using thier E.D. to steal everyone's property. The new one seems ot want to put it in the flood plain north and west of the park. Where the bike track is now, and the park shop. Neither idea would be reasonable I think. If I were still there, and actually in favor of it, I'd put it out west of town, out around where the north bypass and highway 50 meet, for easy access from both directions. Plus, if they ever get the south bypass built, it would be able to be accessed from both 50 and 56.

| How about the land that they already own by the racetrack south of town? Or, how about doing some dirt work and putting it between the civic center and the middle school? That way they could utilize some of the parking lot that they spent big money repairing at the civic center for overflow parking at the event center. Also, it wouldn't take much to tie into existing water, sewer and electrical lines at that location.

| What and take away the best snow hill made????.............. Besides isn't that area like a drainage area for the whole town??? - I think the north on the bypass is a good idea............

| Global warming has taken care of that. We rarely get any considerable snow here.

| Personally I like my idea for a "Event's Center".... I think it should be a combo "events center/casino/hotel" With a casino you would have hotels and vendors begging to be part of that. I don't think there is a decent (non-indian) run casino within 300 miles of here. You would draw from most of western Kansas, Wichita, OK Panhandle, North KS and even Colorado. A casino doesn't discriminate and it would be a way to keep the illegals money in the area....lol. The casino could have a wild west theme complete with a wild west type bar and role player cowboys and such.... As for the events...one event comes to mind that both whites and hispanics like..>Boxing. The Casino in KC has boxing both pro (obviously not the big championship matches) and amateur. Boxing is HUGE in Dodge. A lot of hispanics go to bars to watch the pay for view fights and it's SRO. I think an occasional boxing match and some wrestling and/or ultimate fighting (they recently had one in Garden that sold out) would do well. A casino would draw more conventions here also. Along with Casino drawing more people you could add a small hotel tax..(the did that in Missouri but not a small one) and use that tax money also. To me this would draw a lot more people and appeal to more of a diverse crowd than some 8 million dollar cowboy and horse show....just my thoughts.
