| Once upon a time in a land far, far away, it was beneficial for municipalities to work together for uniformity. Now the municipalities are followers of the organization they created and are no longer capable of thinking for themselves. Creating city ordinances allows the municipal courts the position to collect the fine$. It's way more practical to frisk and prosecute gun carriers than Picasso's with spray paint.

A law that gives Kansans the right to carry concealed weapons needs protection from local governments that are passing ordinances adding their own restrictions on gun owners, a state senator says. A bill proposed by Sen. Phil Journey, R-Haysville, would prohibit cities from placing additional regulations on the state's concealed carry law passed in 2006. The bill also would void any regulations already passed by cities regarding concealed carry within their jurisdictions. Please email your senator and tell him you support the bill by the Sen. Journey.

| I just don't understand all the hoo rah rah............ these restrictions are not out of the ordinary - what's the beef? Loss of "rights" for the good of others? If it's city, county, govt owned - it belongs to everyone - including those who are agains guns all together - is the problem that this isn't up to a city vote? Is it cause your new CC law doesn't allow for the the old shoot em up Dodge of yesteryear?.......... what is it? In life sometimes you have to share - it's just as important to those who feel threatened by folks with guns to keep you from carrin them onto city property. After all the CC is supposed to be a "private" thing.........
