Why do we continue with status quo knowing the system is corrupt? We continue playing the game of politics knowing full well the game is rigged, yet we complain when some people choose not to play.

I hear it all the time "You have no right to complain if you don't vote." I'm just not buying into that BS. Personally I think its this very thinking that keeps our system corrupt. The idea that you are required to make a choice just doesn't seem right at all. If you don't want none of the above you should have that choice, and that choice should carry as much weight as the rest.

We have no right to say we don't want any of the politicians on the ballet, we are only given the choice between the lesser of evils. Thats just plain F&$k'd up.

I think we should require at least a 51% voter turnout before it becomes official. No 51% no election. Also make voting less of a burden for voters. Put the ballet on a web site and in places where people go already. This would increase voting so that 51% is not unrealistic.

The way our system is now politicians rely on the fact that they only need to entice the voting group to be elected. Fact is this makes it very very easy to steer the election in the desired direction for a small group, and a small group should not have the power to sway an election.

I say if the None of the Above gets the vote or less than 51% of the population vote we declare no election and start over.

Oh, and for gods sake make the Judges position fire-able.

My feeling has been for a long time that we should do away with democrats and republicans and everything else, if you want to serve the public as a politician then you do so as an American, use your common sense and do what is right for America and the American people. There would be no "party lines" to vote with or against, there would be no partisan or bi-partisan, there would only be Americans doing what is right for America!

Good Ideas fellers but it won't happen because two party's are controlled by too few whom are not inclined to giveup the POWER that they are fighting between themselves to capture. That POWER is derived through Voluntary Wage Withholding deductions that cleanly go to Warsh-ing-town.

Stop Payroll deductions and those crooks will find themselves fighting over an empty doG bowl.

I think the majority of folks just can’t be bothered to even pay attention to what’s going on.

Lurker, I’ve thought doing away with payroll deductions was a good idea for a long time. Most taxes are collected in a manner that folks don’t feel. Sales tax just becomes part of the total purchase price, income tax comes out of the paycheck and isn’t noticed, property tax gets buried in the house payment, etc. If folks had to write those checks separately they would be outraged to find that about half their income goes to taxes one way or another. I believe that would make them sit up and pay attention.
