They may be getting less than a third of the profits, but they get millions up front money just to start the project, then they are requiring over 200 million dollars be spent on the casino that will be built. Sounds like to me they had to give up some of the profits to accomidate any investors to spend that much "up front" money.

Too much "they" and not nearly enough "we" in this deal for it to be good.

Don't get me wrong..I'm all for a casino in SW Kansas. I just think the PR for it really stinks. The gaming company is linking it to Boot Hill by name only. Some interesting numbers to think about.

I know someone that owns and operates casinos and such in other countries. Based on the square footage of this proposal, the DC casino could support upwards of 800-1200 slot machines. If each slot only earned $100.00 a day that would make $100,000 a day. Take that times 365 (since they never close) and that makes $36.5 million a year. However, that's based on the low end. Now if each slot makes $200 a day or $300 a day...you can do the math. Plus, you still have the table games and their revenues where the big boys lose their money. The $200 million may seem like a lot, but it will be recovered in a very short amount of time. A tremendous amount of cash will be flowing through that building.

Here's a rather interesting article from the Butler Corp. I think on page 6 it has the breakdown of where the revenue goes.

Good find, duece! Lot's of good info. I read in that where Boot Hill Gaming is a for-profit wholly owned subsidiary of Boot Hill Museum. Maybe they can put some of those profits back into Boot Hill so they can quit stealing money from the WND money.

Thier plan is to do that by having more tourists............ only. Nothing says the money will help fund the museum by "direct" money transfer. Altho............ the owner of the Muesuem is the same person that heads up the "subsidiary"................. fancy wording there I think. Seems to me if a subsidiary is doing well and the "parent" is still on tax payors money - they shouldn't be allowed to branch out untill the parent is self sufficient OR if the parent isn't the subsidiary should be made to divert profits to help offset the support of the parent by tax $$$$....................... sumthin just don't seem right here but either way glad it's happnin............. nice windfall for the owner of the museum and the "locals" he's collected. It never said they had funds.......... it just said they were put together to run the place and make up "boothill gaming" How do ya get into that tight group???? Seems the citizens of Dodge City otta be a member of that elite group.

Sure hope they can bring in 800-1200 people a day

I agree, JR - those numbers seem to suppose that the machines will be full all the time and I just don't think that's so. During the day, I wouldn't expect it to be more than 1/2 full, if that. At night's probably a different story. That's a lot of people expected to come to Dodge. Maybe in the summer....I just don't see it in the winter when it's too damned cold.

If and when they build a Casino, I wouldnt mind seeing them build it up by the Sheridan, lots of room, access to the bypass, central ave. Less congestion. That way I could just walk home with my winnings and my hangover, just few blocks away. LOL
