Exactly that! If you, as a resident of Ford County, don't want to pay that portion of the sales tax. Don't spend your money in Ford County. That is an easier way for those that don't want to pay the county portion of the sales tax, no hassles, just take your spending dollars elsewhere.

Not only will this raise the property tax in the rural areas but will also raise it in Dodge City. Can you all that live in Dodge City afford more property tax to. I don't think so.

But it all comes down to every registered voter voting what they want not what the propaganda wants.

gunnar - I understood his (her?) post to say that if it were NOT repealed, property taxes wouldn't go UP. Still, don't know how anybody could guarantee that - prolly just the opposite. While they have people in a mood to open their pocketbooks, they usually get grabby.

If they vote in a Casino they can add a hotel and rental car tax like they did in KC and make quite a few $$ that can be wasted and pocketed by the city/county leadership...

What makes you think that a repeal of the County sales tax means a property tax increase?

I'll answer for him. Because the why not dodge projects will have to be funded somehow, if there isn't enough money from sales tax, the only other way for the city to raise the money is by raising property taxes.
