| Jack Dalton,a do it yourself attorney, wants to stop your vote. While drinking coffee this morning the rumor was going around that Mr. Jack Dalton has filed another law suite to stop the Sales Tax Repeal Ballot that was to take place on July 24th. 2007. To make a long story short this afternoon I stopped into the District Court and asked if this was true and a lady said yes they had a record of “Motion For Enforcement Of Mandamus Order And Further Relief”, filed by Jack Dalton. My question is this the same person that was an Attorney several years ago? I thought that he must have retired and turned in his license to practice law. This must be the only excitement that he has in his old days. One paragraph that caught my eye was, “ Rather than waiting until next primary or general county election, a special election on the repeal Petition has been set by the County Commission for July 24, 2007. Because of the allegations herein set out, the Court should determine that if Defendant County refuses to postpone the election, it should be enjoined from conducting such election by a temporary restraining order from this Court until the Court has determined the question raised by this petition.” Folk's I do not care how you intend to Vote, my concern is we are giving away our Freedom one day at a time. I spent time overseas in a war fighting for the right to Vote and have Freedom and I’ll be Damn if Jack Dalton is going to take that away from me. This petition was approved and certified for an election by the County Clerk. How dare this Jack Dalton use his power as an Attorney and try to confuse the Public. Shame on him. Now we will see if our County Commissioners will stand their ground and not cancel the election. How will the County Counselor recommend to proceed? |

| I agree sunny beach. I say IF the county manages to wiggle out of their initial obligations then they shouldn't be entitled to any revenue ANY of the projects produce. I know thats impossible, but hey, I can always wish.

Jack may be old, but he's not senile. He's as passionate about his beliefs are you are.

| Any law can be reversed. All it takes is a majority vote of the people or a decision by a high court. The purpose of this is delay. The powers that be don't want this to come to a vote. By filing a suit, they hope to delay the vote until such time as they have a better chance of winning. The scary part is who is going to defend this suit on behalf of the voters? Glen Kerbs? Will it be a whole hearted effort to win or a half hearted, lets put on a good show and loose effort? However you look at this, we should start looking for a kiss as we the voters are going to get screwed. |

| I don't think the law should be reversed, personally. That would be tantamount to signing a contract to fulfill a certain obligation, then after a short time into the contract wanting to not fulfill your obligation. They already have a choice to not pay the sales tax by spending their money outside of Ford County. |

| My only thought on the subject is the fact there is no sunset clause in this specific tax. As such, any group of taxpayers can band together and cause the public to vote on it again and again and again. Eventually they will get it accomplished... |

| The onliest reason to vote for reducing the cash flow into the money $penders kitty (sorry Texie) is that it MIGHT force them into taking a more realistic look at how much they will force us to spend on their spatial events center.

There are reasons why our government is..."of the people, by the people and for the people." I also have a copy of the motion filed in Ford County Dist. Court by Jack Dalton. Several weeks ago I was at a County Commission meeting when the City's legal counsel, Ken Stroble asked the commission to delay the repeal vote to a later date. If my memory serves me correctly, County legal counsel, Glen Kerbs said very little but he left me and many others with the impression he agreed with Ken Stroble. It would not surprise me one bit if Jack Dalton recieved help from Ken Stroble and Glen Kerbs in the writing of this new motion. Their agenda in obvious to anyone who will take the time to attend the meetings and really listen. |

We the people voted not once, not twice, but three times to have the SEC built yet through delaying the peoples choice until they(certain people) could find a valid reason to raise doubt, because NOW everything will cost more, people are having second doubts. Its a chicken-shit ploy to say the least. Now when the other side pulls the same shenanigans they(certain people) cry foul.
