We lost alot when we lost St. Marys, St. Anthony's, and Sacred Heart. Course they just replaced it with "Guadelupe" like the rest of the illegal influx.

I said it before maybe a casino would help Dodge City by giving us another source besides packing houses. If it is state run casino our local adminstration can't screw it up like they do everything else!

Ya just put a 4 year college right in the middle of all that mess there, that would be good for the students future. Lots of drugs and chaos. YAY!!!!

I sometimes read this board and I get sad. I see alot of deserving people wanting their town back. The place they call home, was born and raised and they once were proud to call their home. I see you all really wanting to fight to get it back and I am with you on that; however, don't die in that mess. Get out while you all can. It is so much nicer in other cities and small towns in Kansas with so much more opportunity.

Don't get me wrong, I love my home town, but it just is not what I want anymore and it is not what it use to be.

Probably not much need since most people I know of leave Dodge City after retirement. I know I will be heading for Texas after I retire. No state income tax, and no sales tax on necessity groceries....gotta make those dollars last, don't ya know!

Dodge City was founded by people who were honest, hard working individuals
Are these the same people that thought slaughtering millions of buffalo was a good long term economic plan?

Or are these the ones who opened up all the saloons and whore houses and gambling halls?

Having lived in Las Vegas, and still have family there, I have seen gambling up close and personal. I have seen the addiction, and suffered because of it. It was not uncommon for my mother to spend 4 to 5 hours playing slots. We had to count on an extra 2 hours for grocery shopping just because she had to play them. She was actually a minority since the majority know when to say when, like everybody else does.

I have seen the editorials from all the religious leaders...........are they worried about our souls or are they worried the 10% they are supposed to get from their parishners will be spent on dice?

I ahve seen the editorial from the guy saying it will take money from the bingo games. Really? One gambling for another? It appears his is a money problem too.

If the welfare recipients spend all their welfare money on the tables, they don't get more welfare money do they? No they don't so what difference does it make.

What do you think brings more crime to our area: one gambling casino or thousands of illegal aliens? What do you think causes more gambling addictions: one gambling casino or lottery tickets, keno and bingo with no betting limit?

You know, if ya'll don't like the casino and the money it will bring..........aint nothing stopping you from getting the hell out of Dodge now is there?

snip
It was an excellent 'long term economic plan' towards destroying the economy of the Indians. Buffalo provided food, shelter (teepee siding) and even rudimentary tools.

Nopers, we didn't destroy their lives. We destroyed their livelyhood.

Guess what? muslimes wish the very same fate for us.... given 3 boats, 3 scuds and three low grade nukes: our economy is gone, toast, BSoD'd/d....

I drove around neighborhoods all over town yesterday evening, and judging by all the yard signs I saw in all the different neighborhoods, I predict the casino will pass by a very wide margin.
