Moving Forward!

Gambling promoters in Dodge City and Ford County try to make us feel like losers. They say we need a casino and slot machines or we just aren’t going to make it.

I’m here to tell you, we will make it, and we’ll make it better and faster without a casino and gambling.

We are on the way forward, riding the same wave of honest hard work and integrity that has always made Ford County a great part of the heart of America.

We can continue to move forward in good health, friendship, integrity and truth without slot machines and a casino.

We are going to have an opportunity to walk into the ballot box and vote our best hopes for our cities and Ford County.

If I were a betting man I would wager that we’re not going to let gambling promoters change our honest hard working way of life. In just a few short days, with other counties voting on gambling expansion, our winning bet is that Ford County will refuse to make gambling promoters rich -- and your fellow neighbors poor. We’ll beat the house at the ballot box, and the citizens of Ford County will win.

The good health of the illegals paid for by us hardworking taxpayers! Also, them driving around with no insurance, making us that have insurance pay more, (see the thread about plates that tat2 started and the trouble she is having getting her car fixed.) The truth? I don't think you understand the concept. You post your opinion and the opinions that you find on anti-gambling websites as truth when there are no facts to back up what you say. Need proof? I seem to recall that Bubba did a good job of refuting about everything you posted. You even said that you were done posting about it....then Bubba left the board and now you are posting your opinions as facts again since Bubba can't/won't put you back in your place with facts.

Not that it matters, but I wont be voting for it. For all the "good" Ive heard it could bring, I also think it could bring just as much bad. Maybe that is a bad attitude. Didnt Dodge City have a hard time keeping Boothill? Oh Im sure if the Casinos come, they will do great for a while. In time I think people will get tired of all that comes with gambeling.

Ive also heard so much about VOTE YES or VOTE NO, but Ive heard nothing about WHERE they want to build this. Anybody have that information???

It is in the FAQ link that I posted earlier.

Will the gaming facility be built in the area of Wright Park?
No. If Boot Hill Gaming is the successful applicant to be the enterprise manager, they assure that it will not be built in the Wright Park area. They looked at it carefully, but need more land than is currently available. Boot Hill Gaming says “the facility will probably be built somewhere along the fence lines of Dodge City”.

My guess would be down south somewhere near the race track. But, that is just my guess......

Based on what? The casino supporters have laid out a lot of figures and such. Saying we will make it without a casino is great! What's the plan to do that????

Are we talking about the SAME Ford County? The one with gang problems, more crime per capita than the average bad place to live, borderline poisonous water...the SAME Ford County that is being OVERRUN with illegals?

Do you think the average tax paying citizen of Ford County is winning now? If so...how are they winning? Hopefully the other counties (Sedgwick) will defeat gaming so we can draw from that crowd also. I believe this will win overwhelmingly. Any bets? I do ask you though HOW is Ford County winning right now and what is here that makes the people winners? What is IN Ford county to have a family MOVE here that are not migrant workers going to a packing plant? Perhaps it's the low crime? The quality of the education? The low taxes? I'm just asking.

Well you could look at it this way.....the illegals gamble and we get their money one way or another!!!! YAY!!!
