| Red,
I agree with your comments about Ramsour's demeanor, as I have seen her in action before. However, I think in this case, she was trying to protect the students and crossing guards from her school. Many drivers have complained and made rude comments and gestures to the crossing guards about having to wait to get by the busses.
Terry Lee was the only one that continued to park in the back parking lot at DCMS, and encountered this problem many different days. The other teachers simply decided to park in the front parking lot if they needed to leave immediately after school. Terry Lee was the only one who told the crossing guards " Don't you know I'm the mayor of Dodge City?" . Terry Lee is the only one that actually drove his car against the directions of the crossing guards, and ended up actually bumping someone with his vehicle.
I think Ramsour had had enough of his crap and his arrogance, and decided to put her foot down. I think she would have done it to whoever was causing the problem; it wasn't just because he is a city commissioner. I completely agree that it was petty dispute, and should have never went to court. It was a case of two bull-headed people not wanting to give in to each other.
My comment about Lee's letter to the Globe was meant that, if he thinks there is a political machine out to get him, then why is he trashing Sauer in the newspaper. Isn't he guilty of the same type of political maneuvering? (I am in no way a Sauer supporter - I think he needs to go, but he should not be attacked in the newspaper by a sitting city commissioner.)
If there is a political agenda against Lee, then why did the Globe choose to print his letter, but ignored at least two other letters from crossing guards that were some of the witnesses that were never called at the trial? It seems like Lee has some people looking out for him too, so it's not as one-sided as he makes it out to be. |
