| I agree. Why should everybody have to pay for the sins of a few? Maybe they should change the damage deposit depending on the reason for the rental. Maybe for those parties, they should charge 10x the normal damage deposit. The places up here wouldn't stand for that for a second. If there were damages above the damage deposit, it would be written into the lease that the lessee was responsible for said damages. And then they'd collect. I can't believe that the rental agreements for the city-owned buildings aren't written more air-tight.

| i would bet they did charge the parties in question for the damages, but still raised the rates anyway. thats the way our city does things, and ya'll seem surprised.

| in the past you payed less for a sub standard building.....and knowing how people are those individuals probabaly complained(no AC and what not). Now with a building that is way better and better furnished why wouldn't you expect to dish out a little more dough. Extreme example maybe but the Hilton vs. the Bates Motel....should the pricing be the same, I mean you are just sleeping in both places.

| Welp, even a Business Admin 101 class will tell ya that if you price yourself out of the market, you'll find yourself with no customers. Don't take a lawyer to figure that out. Since the property is owned by the taxpayers, let the heathens that tear the property up pay to have it restored. And let the rest of the public use it for a fee that covers cleaning and additional utilities.

| But that assumes the capacity to have common sense. Our leaders have proven many times that they do not possess that trait.

| Doubling the rent for the usage is a little crazy, but not increasing the price would be dumb...the city will learn from the mistake and will lower the price.
