| Questions Mark forgot to ask, re $34 million for casino infrastructure Untangling the Kansas casino legal mess By RICK ALM The Kansas City Star, April 7, 2008 [bold added for emphasis] www.kansascity.com | 04/07/2008 | Untangling the Kansas casino legal mess Quote:

| Perhaps no local funding can be used for the casino proper. But I "bet" locally financed lines can be installed to a special events center 50' away: with excess capacity and stubs for future taps. |

| Remember that $34 million tax dollars for infrastructure got this email -- seems that this group wants to move the whole town (English speaking), use all the tax money possible for infrastructure, and take Boot Hill's name with them. Since Boot Hill Museum is no longer involved, how do they call it Boot Hill ? Move the hill ? Hey, after the rest of the town closes, the hill might be easy to move then, huh ? (I want some of whatever these guys are smoking -- million sq feet of retail?) So I share... Quote:

| Interesting stuff, OT. "planned" is not the same as "committed', as you know. Looks like a rather polished lobbying effort. I like your comment about moving the English speaking town. One goal of having the SEC in a downtown or southern location was to spread the town growth out...not further the segregation. |

eunuch, I guess I honestly didn't realize..."One goal of having the SEC in a downtown or southern location was to spread the town growth out...not further the segregation."

eunuch, I agree with you! Although I don't think the direction of growth is really a priority.

| fun on land sales in credit reports -- brady to western beverage to bogner to .... Not sure how to read some of it, but credit reports show land sales from: Leon & Dwane Brady, et al. to Western Beverage Inc Western Beverage Inc to Joseph & Shirley Bogner Joseph & Shirley Bogner to Butler National Services Corp. then, oddly, Butler National Service Corp to Butler National Service Corp. Seems that the location of the Events Center has been decided before the location of the casino... or something like that, huh ? (Send $34 million to casino...) Given that CFAB Chair Starks directly profited from this, come on lawyers .... Just nice that ethics isn't a concern.........or the financial well-being of the taxpayers. |
